The Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management said it had contained a reported chemical leak and that residents were clear to leave their homes.

The office had earlier warned residents to stay inside, close all windows and doors and turn off any air conditioning or ventilation.

The nearby city of La Porte was also given the all-clear after that city’s fire department was reported to be working on an unspecified leak from a pipeline in the area.
